Horn is natural and will dry with time, revealing a fibrous aspect.
But don't worry, you can avoid that simply by regularly oiling your knife handle, just like wood.
If you have a weather-worn knife, lightly sand it using extra-fine sand-paper (P400), before polishing it and then nourish it with oil such as flax.
Tip: to keep your horn handle as shiny as new, never leave your knife in water or expose it to high temperatures (>50°C). Clean your knife with a damp cloth rather than under running water and, of course, never put it in the dishwasher.

This is an incredibly beautiful and well made knife. It exceeded my expectations. I was looking for a gentleman’s pocket knife to pass on to my children and I found it in this knife. I would absolutely buy another

Sharp! As an edc, though, I'll specify carbon over stainless on my next laguiole. It's too pretty to use!
