The first thing that catches the eye is the warthog tusk inlay at the front of the handle. Its ivory hue, crossed by natural veining, is fitted to the millimetre against the wood. Finnish birch then takes over: a wood with marbled, wavy fibres, shot through with golden glints. These two natural materials are never reproduced identically, so every Alpin has its own signature.

Did you know?

In the Alps, shepherds and mountain folk carried a knife that had to do everything: cut bread, trim a branch, prepare a meal in the summer pastures. The Alpin was born from these simple uses. Handmade today in Thiers, it benefits from the know-how of the town’s cutlers while keeping its own silhouette, distinct from the Thiers knife. Its Sandvik 12C27 stainless steel blade holds its edge for a long time and resists corrosion.

Picture it by a mountain lake, at a bivouac or during the snack break of a fishing trip. Compact at 10.5 cm closed, the Alpin goes unnoticed in the pocket until the moment it is needed. For Father’s Day, a birthday or a well-earned retirement, it will delight anyone who prefers the great outdoors to the comforts of the city. With a date or a first name engraved on the blade, this pocket knife becomes an object kept for a lifetime.
