Beech wood, nicknamed ‘the king of European forests’, is a local and versatile material, appreciated for its lightness, strength and ability to be shaped or stained. A wood typical of European forests, it has been used for centuries to make furniture, tools and even toys. Its homogenous texture and shock resistance make it an ideal choice for knife handles.
The handle has undergone a stabilisation process. This process involves injecting a resin or polymer under vacuum and pressure into the pores of the wood. This technique improves beech's resistance to humidity, temperature variations and environmental conditions, making it more durable and less susceptible to warping.
