The liner lock system on the laguiole ebony knife ensures optimum safety during use. This mechanism uses a metal part, called the ‘liner’, which is integrated into the side of the knife handle. When the blade is open, a spring on the liner snaps into a small notch in the heel of the blade, holding it firmly in place.
To close it, simply push the liner slightly towards the inside of the handle, releasing the blade from the notch and allowing it to be folded safely. This system is appreciated for its simplicity, sturdiness and ability to prevent accidental closing, making the knife both safe and practical for everyday use.
