Mimosa wood handle is a species of fine wood found only in the forests of Guyana.

It looks like snakeskin. Typically brownish-red with contrasting brown or black spots.

It ranks 4th in the top 10 of the world's toughest woods, which makes it hard to work with since it is so dense and tough. Needless to say that it will resist everyday bumps and shocks without any difficulty.

It will get darker with time, but that will be the only sign of the passing years, its appearance will remain the same for generations. If you wanted a gift to pass down from father to son, you have just found the ideal knife!

Did you know ?

Just like ebony, mimosa wood is so dense that it does not float!

Despite its toughness, it is sometimes still used to makes small statues, boxes, walking sticks or for marquetry.
