More about horn

The horn used for the manufacture of our Laguiole knives comes from the solid tip on the uppermost part of the horne. It is selected for its quality and durability. Horn handles are therefore carved from the main horn to give incredibly robust, top quality knives.

Black horn is known for its solidity, the direct natural link with the buffalo is therefore no coinncidence. The very dark-coloured buffalo horn is streeaked with hues ranging from dark beige to deep black.

Our recommendation: to preserve the shine and quality of your knife handle, never leave your knife to soak in water, or exposed to high temperatures (>50°C). Clean your blade with a damp cloth, rather than rinse it in water. You should never put your knife in the dishwasher.
