More about the handle
The horn chosen to make our Laguiole knife handles comes from the solid extremity of the horn, selected for its robustness and high quality. Our horn handles are carved from the block, for enduring quality and solidity.
Black horn is reputedly very robust, partly due to its coming from animals such as buffalos. Very dark, buffalo horn shades go from dark beige to plain black.
Tip: to keep your horn handle as shiny as new, never leave your knife in water or expose it to high temperatures (>50°C). Clean your knife with a damp cloth rather than under running water and, of course, never put it in the dishwasher.
