Camel bone is a natural, porous material.
It has been used since ancient times for the manufacture of tools, knife handles, jewellery and accessories.
The natural bone comes from African camels. It is white in colour and acquires a timeworn patina.
To offer a variety of finishes, the bone can come in different colours and may be injected with resin for stability. This process helps to strengthen the natural material and make your bone handle knife easier to clean.
Bone is a precious, delicate material and should never be soaked in water! You can occasionally nourish the handle of your knife by rubbing it with a little vegetable oil, but you should never put it in the dishwasher...
