1. What is a Laguiole stainless steel knife?
It is a knife whose blade — and sometimes the handle — is made entirely of stainless steel, a material resistant to corrosion and easy to maintain. It’s considered a standard in cutlery, as it offers the best balance between cutting quality, strength, and sharpening ease.
2. Are these knives made in France?
Yes, all our Laguiole stainless steel knives are made in France. There are two main production areas: one based in Aubrac (Laguiole) and the other in Thiers, the French capital of cutlery.
3. What are the advantages of stainless steel?
Stainless steel ensures excellent durability, long-lasting shine, and easy maintenance.
Carbon steel blades can have a sharper edge, but they tend to darken over time. This is why we mainly sell knives with stainless steel blades, which offer the best balance between performance and appearance.
4. Are these knives dishwasher-safe?
Absolutely not — doing so could damage the handles. You may rinse the blade under water if necessary, but as a rule of thumb, a good knife should never be washed — only wiped clean.
5. Can I personalize a stainless steel Laguiole knife?
